JOEL L. DUNSKY, DDS
Hello, I’m Dr. Joel Dunsky. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan where I attended college and dental school at the University of Detroit. After receiving my dental degree, I did an internship at Sinai Hospital of Detroit where I served on a Cleft Lip and Palate team. I did my Endodontic training at Boston University School of Medicine. Following my post-doctoral training, I served as a captain in the United States Army for 25 months posted to Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas and Fort Dix, New Jersey. After military service, I relocated back to the Boston area with my wife Patricia and daughter, Cynthia. We now have three children and nine grandchildren, ranging in age from 17 month old twins to a 21 year old college senior. Following my separation from active duty, I began practice with Dr. Cyril Gaum and Dr. Alvin Krakow in a practice limited to Endodontics. At the same time I began my teaching career which included the Forsyth Dental Center, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and ultimately at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where I am presently teaching. After practicing for five years, I presented cases, sat for written and oral examinations and became Board Certified in Endodontics.
In our practice of Endodontics, we see patients who are experiencing severe dental pain and/ or infections. It is my goal to make the experience of taking care of them as comfortable and gentle as possible, and I am pleased to say that is the case in the majority of patient interactions. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from teaching both pre-doctoral and graduate dentists the science and art of Endodontics. Monitoring and guiding their progress in the class room and clinical settings is specially rewarding. I am able to bring back to my patients the newest knowledge and latest technology that being actively affiliated with our practice and the university affords.
