Marielena Gamboa-Ruiz, DDS
Hi! I’m Dr. Marielena Gamboa-Ruiz. I was born and raised in Caracas – Venezuela, where I obtained my dental degree from Universidad Santa Maria in 2002. During my time in Venezuela, I completed an advanced education in general dentistry program, practiced as a general dentist for eight years and worked as Clinical Professor for five years at my alma mater. In 2010, I moved to the United States and in 2014 I completed a two year residency in Endodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following my graduation, I became assistant professor and later the Director of Pre-Doctoral Endodontics at Tufts. In 2018, I completed a Faculty DMD program and received my DMD degree from Tufts. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and making jewelry.
I am passionate about my profession, both as an endodontist and academic. Teaching endodontics has represented an important pillar in my career. It is rewarding not only to have the ability to take patients out of pain, but also to teach and train future dentists and endodontists. Endodontics is the perfect combination of biology, art, and technology. It is fascinating to provide treatment to those in pain, while creating a unique piece of art, using the latest technology.
